Homemade Bathtub Cleaners
Do you ever have those days when you forgot that you were having some friends or family over to spend the night and you forgot to clean your bathtub? You rush home from work and don’t even have time to purchase the necessary tub cleaners that you are panicking on what to do because you know you don’t want them to step foot into that bathroom until it is cleaned.
The good thing is we don’t have to worry because there are many different homemade tub cleaners that we can make with many of the simple things that we usually have lying around our home. While these might not be as effective at cleaning the tub like a regular cleaner would it is able to get the job done and make it look like new in only a few minutes.
Place some of your inexpensive shampoo on your puff sponge and use it to wipe around the edges and bottom of the tub then rinse. The best time to do this is when you finish taking your shower. It is quick, easy, and allows it to look as good as new.
Borax is a great cleaner that is also used when the bathtub is still very wet. Just pour it in, let it sit, scrub, and then rinse off when you are finished.
Combine a teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice together with a quart of warm water. Put it in a spray bottle and spray it all over the tub. Let it sink in and they with an old rag use it to clean off the tub.
Combine vinegar and baking soda to create a simple paste. Pour it all over your tub and make to scrub it in well. Once you have done a thorough cleaner you can rinse it off with warm water. This helps to get rid of both soap scum and mildew quickly and rather easily.
Put on some rubber gloves and pour peroxide onto light colored grout only. Make sure to wear bum clothes in case you spill anything. Let is sit in the tub for five minutes. Use a tooth brush or gout brush and scrub the entire thing down. After you have finished rinse it off with warm water.
